"I think we were just sort of texting back and forth to each other, talking about The Fall and that led to, well if you like Mark E. Smith you're gonna like this new band, and I'd never heard of them."Watch this moment

Every quote links to the moment in the episode."I picked up this Cluster record. I always have said that all roads lead to Germany in regards to interesting out-there music because, y'know, Germans coming out of the rubble of Nazism, the kids grow up and sort of say fuck you to all this sort of Western rock music and krautrock is this amazing rebellion against everything and out of that is born stuff like Cluster."Watch this moment
"I think everyone should own his solo stuff. It's really important."Watch this moment
"Even if you don't like the Beatles they're, to me, the American Beatles and they're really important I think, for a lot of modern-day music and their story's just really interesting the fact that they were on Stax but they're this Beatles-sounding kind of band."Watch this moment
"I'm a late bloomer too Guided By Voices because I've always been overwhelmed by the amount of releases there are. Seems to be like a hoarder's house of records that they put out, but my friend Dan Elkman sat me down once and just sort of played a song for me and then I was like, oh, ok I love it. And then in going down that wormhole, I found my favorite song on this record, which is 'Motor Away.'"Watch this moment
"I really love 'Shake Some Action,' which I listen to a lot when I draw too. I think the fact that this is what was given to England as our version of punk, I think that's kind of cool, because it's full of harmonies and everything, and it's so cool."Watch this moment
"This is 1968. It's just a strange, strange pop record and I don't mean chamber pop for the year; it's really a weirdo record. It's great, worth a listen to, even if you hate it."Watch this moment
