Paranoid
Black Sabbath ·1970
"Sabbath is...everything kind of starts and ends for me and a lot of the bands I work with on the label, and so this is, I mean, an incredibly important band and album."

No Friend Around
John Lee Hooker ·1969
"This John Lee Hooker record, No Friend Around, was turned on to me by Cameron Jamie as one of the darkest albums musically. It's an amazing album 'cause the recordings are pretty lo-fi stuff. Beautiful record."

Black Metal
Venom ·1982
"Embarrassingly enough, I didn't have this on vinyl, but I've got many like burnt cassettes burnt for me and burnt out. So I was like I think it was time to upgrade to an actual vinyl copy of this classic and very important album and something that has been influential for us and our new record which we have a tribute to Venom in the title of our song."

Senderos de luz y sombras
Beatriz Ferreyra ·2023
"Beatriz Ferreira record. Amazing electroacoustic composer from Argentina. This is from a series Recollections GRM, which is archive recordings from the Group Research Musical in Paris, France. This composer in particular is unbelievably cool. Like loop-based synthesis music."

Sun Ship
John Coltrane ·1971
"Sun Ship. Oh wow. John Coltrane. I think I have this on compact disc, but it's time to have the vinyl version. This is one of my favorite eras of Coltrane with Elvin Jones and Jimmy Garrison, McCoy Tyner of course, one of my favorite piano players. Obsessed with John Coltrane. Stoked to get this."

"Joshua Abrams' new album... Found this in the jazz section, but like we were talking about, some of these artists like experimental music, jazz, or kind of like ethnic world music or whatever. But also album cover, very cool."

Gagaku Suites
Reigakusha & Sukeyasu Shiba ·2002
"This is a record of Gagaku Suite. It's called Ragaku Sha. I don't know if that's an ensemble or a style of Gagaku, Japanese court music, Gagaku. But this cover is unbelievably cool. It's just a beautiful, perfect design in black and white. I love this area of music, but the cover is what drew me in there."

Call of the Valley
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Brij Bhushan Kabra & Pandit Shivkumar Sharma ·1968
"Shivkumar Sharma on Santoor, Hariprasad Chaurasia on flute, and Brij Bhushan Kabra on guitar. This is an amazing piece of music. I hadn't seen this cover before. They're very young. I kind of picked it up because I have the other versions, but I thought the cover was so cool."

LUX
ROSALÍA ·2025
"Got a Rosalía record, LUX. Pretty interesting and weird like use of choir and orchestra. She played in Paris recently. Some friends of mine went. Had strongly different opinions. Like the young person who's 9 years old fell asleep the whole time. The old person, the father, was blown away 'cause she's using like flamenco group doing clapping and there was a full symphony orchestra in the middle of the arena playing."
