Extension of a Man
Donny Hathaway ·1973
"I think it's a very important record in my life, just because it opened my eyes to a lot of different tones and a lot of different rhythms. It's exceptional as a record, yeah. It's brilliant, musically."

Just in Time
The Singers Unlimited ·1978
"They're a really nice jazz vocal quartet. I haven't actually heard too many tracks on this record before, but it's got two of my favorite standards on it, which are 'My Foolish Heart' and 'Someone To Watch Over Me.'"

Doolittle
Pixies ·1989
"I love the aesthetic of the sound with Kim Deal with the bass, being sort of basic, and quite like... almost dubby if you will, and yeah, Frank Black's vocals are really... I'm really down with 'em."

Introducing the Style Council
The Style Council ·1983
"I'm a big Paul Weller fan. I love The Jam, and so, it was really interesting to actually listen to The Style Council for the first time when I was younger because it was... y'know, he'd gone from being in quite a guitar/bass punk band to going into quite like a soul electronic kind of unit. Yeah, I think this record in particular has got real good tracks on it, like 'Long Hot Summer' and 'The Paris Match', and it shows such diversity in his skill as a musician and, yeah, it's one of my favorite joints, for sure."
