Steely Dan — Gaucho

Gaucho

Steely Dan
Rock 1980

A gaucho or gaúcho is a skilled horseman, reputed to be brave and unruly. The figure of the gaucho is a folk symbol mainly in Argentina and Uruguay but also in Paraguay, southern Brazil, southern Bolivia, and southern Chile. Gauchos became greatly admired and renowned in legend, folklore, and literature and became an important part of their regional cultural tradition.

“It's probably my favorite record of all time... This is the first CD version of 'Gaucho.' The reason why it's 'cause I'm a huge Donald Fagen and Walter Becker fan, but the second reason is because there isn't one song on this CD that I skip past.”
